Steps to Get the Abu Dhabi’s Social Media Influencer License

Confused on what the new influencer license is? Don’t worry, we got you!

Starting July 1, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Economic Development (ADDED) says all businesses and social media influencers need licenses to advertise online.

How should influencers obtain the social media influencer license to avoid fines?

The steps are easy and as follows:

  • Log into the “Tamm” platform using your digital ID
  • Search for the services provided by Abu Dhabi DED
  • Select the freelancer license option
  • Fill out the required information
  • Pay the fees to get your license via email

The fees for obtaining the influencer license via ADDED’s Tamm platform are Dhs1,250 for individual influencers and Dhs5,000 for companies or groups of influencers.

You need a license if you’re:

  • A solo social media influencer in Abu Dhabi.
  • A group of influencers working together as a company.
  • Businesses hiring influencers for promotions.

 

Watch out for fines ranging from Dhs3,000 to Dhs10,000 if you fail to register for the license. Non-compliance could lead to business closure for disregarding ADDED’s guidelines.
