A teenager just pulled off something legendary! Byron Waller, a 15-year-old pilot from Australia, landed in Al Ain on Friday as part of his bold mission to fly solo around the world. And the best part? He’s doing all of this while battling Crohn’s disease, a challenge he refuses to let hold him back.
Instead of letting his health hold him back, Byron decided to turn his dream into reality. Back in 2024, he completed a 19-day solo flight around Australia, and now he’s taking it global. Flying a tiny single-engine Sling TSi, he started his journey in Brisbane and has already made stops in Singapore, Sri Lanka, and India before arriving in the UAE.
Speaking about his UAE stop, Byron said, “Arrived in Abu Dhabi, how cool is it here? What a great culture and community!”
Next up? Egypt, Europe, the United States, and the Pacific. Two months, one teenager, and one small plane—this is seriously next-level.
It’s not just a record-breaking flight. It’s a message that nothing, ABSOLUTELY nothing can stop you if you have passion and determination. Byron is living proof that limits are meant to be broken!
