And that’s not all.

The breakthrough coincides with Abu Dhabi hosting the second round of trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States, reinforcing the UAE’s growing role as a trusted platform for international dialogue.

According to UAE Foreign Minister H.H Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the two rounds of talks held in Abu Dhabi were described as “productive and constructive”, sending positive signals about the seriousness of ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, now in its fourth year. Beyond humanitarian measures, talks also explored ceasefire mechanisms, monitoring a potential halt in military activity, and creating conditions for a durable peace.

In a significant development, the United States and Russia agreed to resume military-to-military dialogue, marking a major step toward de-escalation after years of suspended contact

The dialogue will be led by senior military leadership from both sides.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation to both Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation, highlighting the confidence both nations place in the UAE’s mediation role.

The Ministry emphasized that the success of this eighteenth mediation effort reflects the UAE’s strong and balanced relationships with both countries, while reaffirming its commitment to peaceful solutions and alleviating humanitarian suffering.

As talks continue and diplomacy inches forward, Abu Dhabi remains firmly positioned as a key player in shaping dialogue — proving once again that when it comes to global mediation, the UAE is more than just a host.
