The UAE experienced a splash of wet weather as heavy rains and strong winds began sweeping through Al Ain, Fujairah, and Sharjah. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) and the MET office are keeping a close watch, and issuing alerts to keep everyone informed of the upcoming weather conditions.
Last night, May 10, parts of the UAE witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall and strong winds, particularly in Al Ain, Fujairah, and Sharjah. The MET office reported predominantly cloudy conditions across the UAE, and these conditions are expected to hang around until this evening.

Rainfall was reported in various locations, including Al Faw, north of Al Shweib in Al Ain, south of Madam in Abu Dhabi, and Al Badair in Central Sharjah, around 4.30PM. Social media quickly began buzzing with updates as users shared videos of the downpour across their cities.
The formation of rainy clouds in the Eastern regions of the UAE have led to the rainfall – with yellow alerts quickly issued to ensure that residents stay aware and prepared for any scenario.

Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to drive carefully, advising they pay attention to and follow the updated speed limits that will be displayed on electronic information boards to ensure safety on the roads for everyone.
Earlier, the NCM had predicted a chance of rain for both Saturday and Sunday, with more precipitation anticipated in the Northern and Eastern regions. The weather nationwide was partly cloudy, with temperatures hovering between 35°c and 39°c during the evening over the last couple of days.
