A little goes a long way: A viral video featuring a municipality worker in Abu Dhabi proves just that.
The man, clad in an Abu Dhabi Municipality uniform, was seen taking a break from his daily tasks and breaking bread for pigeons to eat. As he continued to toss the bread their way, dozens of hungry pigeons gathered around him. Hats off to this kind man for performing such a caring act while working in the intense Abu Dhabi heat. Caring for animals and doing it with so much love, all while working under the scorching sun, is truly inspiring!
Instagram could not hold back their big feelings for the worker. An emotional user posted, “May Allah ease his worries,” while another added, “May Allah reward him greatly for this kindness.” A bevy of social media users appreciated his gesture with hearts and clapping emojis too. One comment pointed out, “Poor Muslims will enter Paradise 500 years earlier than the rich!” No surprises there!

Last month, the emirate stepped up to keep workers cool during the summer months. Through workshops and strict regulations, the municipality aimed to shield everyone from the harsh heat. The workshop didn’t just rely on rules; it also taught participants about the real dangers of working in extreme heat. Workers learnt how to spot heat stress symptoms and what to do in an emergency. Everyone was reminded about the importance of shaded rest areas, especially in hot spots. Plus, folks were encouraged to keep hydrated by drinking water regularly to avoid getting sick from the heat.
