A-List Celebs Attend Dune: Part Two Premiere In Abu Dhabi!

Picture this: the radiance of flashing lights, a theatre adorned with the allure of a red-carpet extravaganza, and the presence of A-list celebrities. The air buzzed with anticipation as the Middle East eagerly welcomed the premiere of Dune: Part Two at VOX Cinemas, The Galleria, Al Maryah Island.

Denis Villeneuve, alongside stars Josh Brolin and Dave Bautista, graced the red carpet. Also, their presence added an extra layer of excitement to the event. The premiere became the event of the season as it showcased Abu Dhabi’s chances to become a hot spot for the film industry.

Dune: Part Two is the sequel to the 2021 film Dune and spoiler alert… They shot a scene in Abu Dhabi!

Both Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two transformed Abu Dhabi’s Liwa desert into the mesmerizing landscape of the desert planet Arrakis. Captured at nearly 20 locations in the Liwa desert during winter 2022, the sequel employed a team of 300 local, 250 international crew, and 500 extras for the 27-day shoot!

Their attendance not only added a touch of star power but it also offered fans a unique opportunity to connect with the creators behind the highly anticipated Dune: Part Two.

At the Premiere, Mohamed Dobay, Creative Media Authority Acting Director General, said:

The Dune: Part Two premiere in Abu Dhabi featured filmmaker Denis Villeneuve and stars Josh Brolin and Dave Bautista walking the red carpet, greeting fans ahead of the screening. The event showcased the film’s connection to the iconic Liwa desert, incorporating the world’s largest sandworm installation as part of the celebration. Additionally, the film’s release in the UAE and Lebanon is set for February 29 and in other regional markets on April 11.
