King Fahd Causeway Might Be Getting An Expansion Makeover!

Exciting times ahead for the King Fahd Causeway! On Thursday, Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef and Bahraini Interior Minister Lt-Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa took a thrilling joint tour of the iconic bridge connecting the two Kingdoms.

They were warmly greeted by Eastern Province Deputy Gov. Prince Saud bin Bandar and Suhail Abanmi, who oversees the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and the causeway’s board of directors.

Both officials discussed plans for an expansion of the iconic bridge connecting Saudi and Bahrain

During their tour, the dynamic duo checked out some fantastic development projects aimed at boosting processing facilities and ramping up travel efficiency for everyone crossing the border, all in line with the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council’s vision.

Stretching 25 kilometers, the King Fahd Causeway is a stunning series of bridges linking Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia to Al Jasra Island in Bahrain. Originally built in 1981 and opened to traffic in April 1985, this iconic route is set for some exciting upgrades!
