NPRA Intensifies Review of Illegally Acquired Bahraini Citizenships

Avatar

The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) is continuing extensive review of cases involving individuals who were granted Bahraini citizenship since 2010. This effort is all about making sure that those who’ve earned Bahraini nationality did so fairly and in line with the law.

The review process and legal implications

The NPRA has affirmed that this review process involves verifying the accuracy of the information and documents submitted by those who were granted the Bahraini citizenship. The committee is being thorough with the review, making sure that all necessary checks are made to maintain the integrity of the nationality.

Violations will impact the entire family

In cases where violations are found, the revocation of Bahraini citizenship will not be limited to the violators alone. Family members who obtained citizenship by dependency will also be affected!
