Bahrainis Abroad Can Now Apply For ID Card Services From Anywhere In The World

Good news for all Bahraini citizens living outside the Kingdom! The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has just launched a brand new eService that makes applying for, renewing, and replacing your ID card easier than ever, no matter where you are!

Here’s how it works:

If you’re a Bahraini citizen living abroad, you can now access the ID card services via the national portal, bahrain.bh.

Whether you’re at home or on the go, all you need is a stable internet connection to submit your application in two easy ways:

By doing it yourself – Log in and complete the application process directly.

Getting some help – A first-degree relative can apply on your behalf.

What happens after?

Once your application is approved, you have two convenient options for getting your new ID card:

Get it delivered – Your ID card will be sent straight to your international address via Aramex courier.

Pick it up in Bahrain – If you happen to be in Bahrain, you can have an authorised person pick it up at the Identity Card Service Centre in Isa Town.

How cool is that?

It’s all about convenience!

Whether you’re in a different time zone or handling busy work schedules, this new eService lets you get your ID card updated or replaced from anywhere in the world – without even taking a single step.

Duaa Sultan Mohammed, Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry at iGA, shared that this launch is part of the Authority’s commitment to making government services more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly.

The upgraded service also offers a bunch of new features

If you didn’t notice it just yet, here are some of the latest features you can get directly through the service as well:

Updating your address online – For those who need to update residential addresses, you can now do it electronically. Super easy, right?

Registering for organ donation – You can now opt to have the organ donation icon printed on your ID card. Just let them know if you’d like to register your decision.

Extra personal information –  The new ID also includes extra details like passport issuance dates, your signature, and your ID card status.

Talk about a digital transformation!
