Fuel-Importing Companies In Lebanon Suspend Its Operations

Diana E.

Fuel-importing companies in Lebanon have decided to halt the delivery of petrol, diesel, and gas.

The fuel companies said that the imposition of an exceptional tax on importing companies had been rushed through and was not included in the draft budget bill drawn up by the parliament’s Finance Committee.

The companies consider that “approval of the exceptional tax will lead to the destruction of the sector.”

According to the press release, “This is a preventive measure in the hope of a change of position among officials and to obtain clarification.”
