100% Increase in landline Phone Installation

A source close to Telecom Egypt has told Masrawy that the company has increased the prices of landline installations by almost 100%, starting today.

According to the source close to the company, the total expenses for ordering and installing the landline increased from EGP 115.03 to EGP 203.40, including taxes and stamps.

The Egyptian Telecommunications Company did not raise the fees for submitting a request for installing a landline telephone, which costs 17.5 Egyptian pounds.

However, they increased the installation fees from 72.5 Egyptian pounds to 150 Egyptian pounds, representing an increase of more than 106%.

This results in a total cost for the request and installation, excluding stamp duty and value-added tax, of 203.40 Egyptian pounds instead of 115.30 Egyptian pounds.

Telecom Egypt has recently increased the price for home internet packages by almost 30%, starting January 5th.
