The crises surrounding the film “Tarot Cards” continue to escalate..

After the controversy over inappropriate scenes involving a dog, Ashraf Zaki, the head of the Actors’ Syndicate, threatened on Monday not to issue the necessary permits for the film’s release.

Regarding the “blogger,” he explained to “Al-Masry Al-Youm” that he would not grant the producers of “Tarot Cards” a permit to screen the film from the Actors’ Syndicate due to the involvement of blogger Ali Ghazlan among the cast. He stated: “I have decided to halt the voucher for the film’s theatrical release and will not provide the necessary permits. Additionally, I have issued a decision to refer all the union member actors participating in the film to investigation within the syndicate due to this issue of Ali Ghazlan’s involvement in ‘Tarot Cards.'”

Censorship due to innapropriate scenes..

The decision followed the Egyptian Censorship Authority’s ban on the film due to inappropriate scenes, with reports circulating about a scene in which Rania Youssef cheats on her husband with a dog as part of the plot.

Meanwhile, the film’s producer, Bilal Sabri, stated in a press release that “the censorship intervened after filming was completed and requested modifications to some controversial scenes, which will require reshooting certain shots and increasing production costs.” He emphasized, “We are committed to the censorship’s directives and will make the required changes as soon as possible.”

The cast..

It is worth noting that “Tarot Cards” stars Sumaya Khashab, Rania Youssef, Mai Selim, Abdel Aziz Makhioun, Mohamed Ezz, Alaa Morsi, Mohamed Suleiman, Khaled Mahrous, Wael Metwally, and Bousi Shaheen. The film is written by Moataz Al-Mufti and directed by Ibram Nashet.
