The Cairo Summit for Peace was held today at the New Administrative Capital with participation of 31 delegations from different countries and international organizations.
The president addressed the attendees welcoming them to Egypt during a critical period that affects the stability and peace in the region.
El-Sisi began his speech by criticizing the inequality and double standards when it comes to dealing with Arab issues and the loss of human rights.
He continued asking; “Where are the values of human civilization that we have built over long millennia and decades? Where is equality of human souls without discrimination or segregation or double standards?”
He also reiterated his condemnation of Israel’s collective punishment policy that targets, kills and intimidates peaceful civilians.
Additionally, he expressed his complete shock at the international world that sat idly watching and enabling a humanitarian catastrophe.
Adding on, he stated that acts of collective punishment including blockade, siege, starvation and forced displacements of civilians are clear violations of international and humanitarian laws.
He also reiterated that “Egypt categorically condemns the forced displacement of Palestinians, and that the liquidation of the Palestinian cause will not not come at Egypt’s expense”
He added, “those who think that Palestinians, who are resilient, steadfast, and proud, are willing to leave their lands, even through constant bombardment, clearly doesn’t understand the nature of Palestinians.
He stressed that the only solution for the Palestinian Cause is “the achievement of justice through a fair and equitable resolution that upholds the rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people.”
