Letter From Variety Magazine To 1990s Producer Ramses Naguib Resurfaces in an Egyptian Market!

A letter from the internationally renowned magazine, Variety, which was sent to one of Egypt’s most powerful producers during the 1990s resurfaces in an Egyptian market!

The letter, sent from James Powers, is inviting the Egyptian producer, director, and writer to send them any news items that he wants published!

Powers also promised Naguib that he would see the printing himself, and would send him copies once published!

Ramses Naguib’s Glorious Contributions to Egyptian Cinema

Starting as a secondary actor, Naguib built a strong career, establishing himself as the star maker in the media industry in Egypt!

He also worked as a film producer and director.

After dabbling in acting, he began working as an assistant director and then worked as a production manager for Aziz Amir Company and a production manager for Nahhas Studio and the International Production Company.

He was the first to present Arabic films with color scope.

Among his most prominent works are the film “The Empty Pillow” which stars Abdel Halim Hafez, “Midaq Alley” adapted from Naguib Mahfouz’s novel, and “Wa Islamah”.

He was also the assistant producer of the Egyptian classics “Sirr Taqiyyat Al Ikhfa” and the production manager of”Shamshun wa Liblib” but the long list of his influential works extends to every house.
