Egyptian Billionaire Tycoon Mohamed Al Fayed Passes Away At 94

Mohamed Al Fayed, an Egyptian Billionaire who started from scratch in Alexandria, passed away peacefully in London at the age of 94.

Al Fayed was widely known in England, Having reached high society, he was known for his ownership of multiple renowned brands in the United Kingdom, and how his connections spread from the European continent to Egypt and Hollywood.

It’s not a secret that Al Fayed once revered the British Aristocracy and Royal Establishment, however, that reverence died along with his son Dodi in 1997.

He was known to be a charismatic man, but also deeply controversial as per his ruthless reputation.

His desire to be included and respected by British society and royalty led the tycoon to purchase renowned British brands, hoping to be included and respected by them.

He owned the renowned Department store Harrods, hoping it would buy him acceptance of British society, and he later sold it after he had multiple problems with the pension fund trustees.

Additionally, he also bought Fulham Football Club, aiming that Fulham would become a Premier League side within five years, and he later sold the club in 2013 for $300M!

His first step into the world of luxury is marked by his purchase of the then-nearly-bankrupt Paris Ritz for $30M in 1979. He worked on a 10-year renovation plan to restore the hotel to its former glory without closing its doors for a day.

Dodi Al Fayed:

Mohamed Al Fayed Passed away twenty-six years to the day after his son, Dodi tragically passed away with Princess Diana in the infamous Paris Car Crash.

Al Fayed was known to be Diana’s confidant before he played Cupid and set her up with his son Dodi.

After his oldest son’s death, Mohamed’s respect and admiration for British Royalty also died.

He extensively sought justice for the death of his son, believing that the Royals were the ones blamed for his murder.

His conspiracies revolved around the involvement of Price Phillip and the MI6 in the car crash that left the two of them dead.

He believed that Diana was pregnant with Dodi’s child and that they were about to get married, which is why he thought the royalty was in charge of their tragic accident.

He blatantly bashed the British royalty, hoping to get an answer to ease his pain.

However, during the trial at the Royal Court of Justice, his inquests were thrown out.
