After the sudden loss of one of its most beloved actors, Soliman Eid, who passed away at the age of 64, the Egyptian art scene mourned while numerous stars from the entertainment industry gathered to pay their respects and offer condolences at his funeral, which took place at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed.

The atmosphere was filled with sadness as colleagues and friends remembered the life and work of the beloved actor.
Abdo Soliman, the son of the late actor Soliman Eid, expressed his profound grief and deep sense of loss following the passing of his father. In an emotional message, he asked his followers to pray for his father’s soul, seeking mercy and forgiveness for him.
The post reflected not only his sorrow but also a sense of gratitude for the love and support his father received throughout his life. It was a poignant reminder of the cherished bond between father and son and the impact Soliman Eid had on those around him.
Among the notable figures present were Alaa Morsi, Salah Abdallah, Laila Elwi and Amr Abdel Galil, who were among the first to offer condolences. Other artists who attended the funeral included Ayten Amer, Ahmed Siam, Foutouh Ahmed, Khaled Galal, Esaad Younis, Edward, Wafaa Mekky, and Manal Salama. The large turnout reflected the high regard and affection that Soliman Eid held within the artistic community.
The funeral was especially emotional for artists Hamdi El-Mirghani and Alaa Morsi, who were close friends with the deceased. The news of Soliman Eid’s passing deeply affected them, casting a shadow of sadness over their faces as they mourned the loss of a dear friend and colleague. It was difficult moment for everyone who knew him personally.
Soliman Eid’s final artistic contribution was in the film Farr Bi 7 Tarwaah (Rat with 7 Lives), released during the Eid al-Fitr cinematic season 2025. In the film, he played the unique role of a mysterious corpse that moved humorously between unexpected locations.
This added a touch of absurd comedy to the film’s events, showcasing his signature comedic style one last time. Farr Bi 7 Arwaah, written by Mohamed Shiba and directed by Shady Ali, also featured a cast of talented actors including Edward, Wezo, Ahmed Fathy, Anba, Mohamed Lotfy, and Mohamed Rizk.
Before that, Soliman Eid appeared in the film Siko Siko, which also premiered during the recent Eid al-Fitr season, alongside Essam Omar, Taha Desouky, and numerous other young artists.
Soliman Eid’s career began in the late 20th Century, with his role in the 1992 film Al-Irhab Wal Kabab (Terrorism and Kebab) serving as a springboard for many subsequent roles.
Over the years, he contributed to more than 150 diverse works of art, including plays, films, series, and television programs. Some of his notable works include Tuyour Al-Zalam (Birds of Darkness), Al-Noom Fil Asal (Sleeping in Honey), and Hamam Fi Amsterdam (Hamam in Amsterdam), solidifying his legacy as a prolific and versatile artist.
