Ahmed Shobier’s TV Show Is Suspended For His Behaviour

The United Media Company suspended Ahmed Shobier’s program because of his behavior, which stirred up public opinion and failed to adhere to the program’s editorial policy, they announced.

Why did UMS End Ahmed Shobier’s Contract?

During his show today, Shobier stated, “We are in a time of movies and bidding on sadness. We can’t even be sad, just overreacting, taking the shot, and making the trend.”

His latest statements, where he expressed support for Egyptian cycling team player Shahd Saeed—who intentionally injured her colleague—triggered this decision. The video of the incident angered social media users.

Concluding his speech, Shobier said, “I realize that some may see me as inhuman after she suffered broken ribs and a concussion, but I am talking about order and laws. There must be self-confidence and following of laws, and decisions should not be made under constant pressure.”

Ahmed Shobier’s old statements, which resurfaced on social media following the death of the late football player Ahmed Refaat, also raised public opinion. In these, he referred to Refaat’s use of steroids immediately after collapsing during a match against Al-Ittihad.

The Board of Directors of the United Media Services Company unanimously decided to stop Shoubir’s program. According to his media contract, suspending the TV show results in the immediate termination of the contract.
