The Criminal Investigation Department has detained three individuals coming from African and Asian nations for their involvement in attempting to sell major quantities of gold jewellery in the market.
Evidently, they hadn’t secured the required permits for selling these items, nor could they provide any evidence verifying their ownership of the gold.
Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that the items they were attempting to trade had been acquired through unlawful methods. In a significant turn of events, not only was it gold they had managed to steal but a remarkable sum of money was also found.
The detained individuals and the confiscated items have been handed over to the Public Prosecution to further move on with the investigation.
