UAE Generously Pledges 10 Million USD To Combat Cholera In Yemen

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of Dubai and Ruler of Dubai received Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of World Health Organisation (WHO) today in Dubai.

HH Sheikh Mohammed and Dr. Ghebreyesus met to discuss the UAE’s efforts to provide aid to people in disaster and crisis areas around the world. 

HH Sheikh Mohammed announced that the UAE’s donation of USD 10 million to the W.H.O

The generous donation is intended to support the World Health Organisation’s efforts against Cholera in Yemen. 

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid emphasised the UAE Government’s commitment to continue developing healthcare services by establishing world-class healthcare facilities, providing specialized medical services, attracting best talents and producing high-quality cadres from local educational institutes. 

He also praised the WHO’s efforts to continue to improve health conditions worldwide, combat epidemics and crises’, and it’s aim to enhance people’s quality of life.

The WHO Director General praised the UAE’s support to fight epidemics and enhance healthcare services around the world

He also highlighted the UAE’s accomplishments in the healthcare sector which is considered a model example for the region.
