Back to Earth, that is.
Following the successful 3pm landing of the first Emirati astronaut from the Soyuz MS15 spacecraft, he landed in a remote town in Kazakhstan where medics waited to receive him and the team who were with him.
Before undocking from the ISS, AlMansoori expressed the challenge and slight fear that comes with wandering around until the spacecraft approaches an appropriate distance on Earth, where the astronauts can then safely exit with help from a parachute.
“I am returning with Zayed’s ambition achieved. We are not done yet, and we will never be.”
We are about to undock from the ISS. Another challenge is wandering around. With fear and pride, I am returning with Zayed’s ambition achieved. We are not done yet, and we will never be. To bring back the golden era of arab astronauts. pic.twitter.com/9aYUFNyi0H

Following his landing, a team of medics will carry him and place him in chairs to transfer him to a crew that’ll take him to a medical tent.
