The three-part docu-series, ‘Inside Dubai’ is still stirring headlines.

The BBC show documents the lives of the uber-rich in Dubai. It blew up on Twitter, with many claiming it was a misrepresentation of the city, while others acknowledged that the juxtaposition between the rich and the poor was an obvious attempt to get a rise from people… and it worked.

Famous Dubai billionaire, Abu Sabeh’s comments about numberplates certainly raised eyebrows. The show dubs him, ‘the most talked-about man in the city’, after famously purchasing Dubai’s ultimate status symbol, a low-digit number plate.

Abu has a collection of pricey numberplates that amount to millions and millions of dirhams, along with his most prized piece, the number ‘5’… and netizens are shook.

“The car is only $800,000, the number plate was $9million”

Abu Sabah is the owner of Raj Sahni Group, one of the most profitable real estate companies in the country, he told the show, “God has been kind and I’ve achieved my goals at a very age”

The internet jumped to scold the sale of a gold scarf in Dubai’s Gold Souk for six figures

The community here in Dubai were quick to point out that the show is not a representation of the true culture here
