565 Companies Hired 824 UAE Citizens In Fake Emiratisation Efforts

The UAE implemented a scheme called Emiratisation, to encourage more Emirati citizens to work in the private sector. Private sector companies with over 50 employees or more must increase the number of their Emirati employees in skilled positions by 1% every 6 months, ultimately achieving 2% by the end of each year.

After investigations, more companies are turning out to be faking their Emiratisation jobs.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) revealed that 565 private-sector companies hired 824 UAE citizens in fake Emiratisation efforts since mid last year

MOHRE seized all the benefits the citizens were falsely making from the nafis programme and violating companies will be facing legal actions

The Nafis programme is a federal scheme that helps UAE citizens find jobs in the private sector and offers financial salary support and other benefits.

Earlier this month, the ministry stated that 436 companies have committed fake Emiratisation and AED2.3 million has been recovered from the Nafis Programme.

Over 17,000 private-sector companies employ Emiratis, with the total number of nationals working in the sector exceeding 81,000, the highest it has ever been in the history of the country.
