The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) announced that it has recovered more than AED2.3 million in financial salary support from Emiratis who accepted fake jobs in the private sector as part of the Nafis Programme.

The Nafis programme is a federal scheme that helps UAE citizens find jobs in the private sector and offers financial salary support and other benefits.

107 Emiratis were proven to have accepted fake jobs in the private sector and benefited from the perks of the Nafis Programme

MOHRE was then able to recover more than AED2.3 million in financial salary support from Emiratis who accepted these fake jobs

in July, the ministry announced that 436 companies have committed fake Emiratisation since the second half of 2022. Penalties and fines have been taken against them. Fake Emiratisation is when a private sector company creates a job for UAE citizens to have them enrolled in the company’s record but does not offer real work.

The Ministry stated that the Nafis programme for UAE citizens, coupled with the facilities that it offers to companies committed to Emiratisation goals, “must align with the national objectives to enhance Emirati citizens’ role in the country’s development.”

MoHRE urged UAE citizens not to be lured by fake Emiratisation jobs. Everyone is encouraged to report any violations related to Emiratisation policies by calling 600590000 or through the Ministry’s smart application or website.
