On September 23 the Dubai Land Department (DLD) issued a circular to tenants and homeowners to register co-occupants within 2 weeks.
Previously, occupants had to declare co-occupant’s Emirates ID and date of birth.
As part of Dubai Land Department’s efforts to provide the highest standards of quality of life and enhance the health and safety standards in the existing buildings, we would like to inform you that residents must declare the number of occupants within a rented property in the system.
The DLD wrote, adding that “all other personal data is optional.”
The 2-week deadline (which would’ve ended in the past 2 days) no longer applies, according to Khaleej Times.
Once registered, all information will automatically be updated on the tenancy contract. Registering all the people living in a home allows each resident to use an Ejari contract as proof of address.
