Everything You Need To Know About Dubai’s New Traffic Fines:

Dubai introduces new traffic fines as a result of a campaign held by Dubai Police to raise awareness and enhance traffic safety measures.

These new amendments include stricter penalties for releasing vehicles that were impounded, especially those who partook in activities that endangered the lives and property of other citizens.

Activities that are classified as dangerous include races, performing stunts, deliberately jumping red traffic lights, and driving with fake or without license plates.

Any crime committed mentioned above will be presented in front of a specialized committee in the General Department of Traffic before receiving a fine.

The fine for releasing any impounded vehicle that committed the following crime is AED 50K:

1. Jumping Red Lights
2. Allowing individuals under 18 to drive vehicles
3. Watching or participating in illegal activities
4. Deliberately colliding with police cars
5. Driving around with fake plates

Furthermore, fines for releasing any impounded vehicles from the following crimes is AED10K:

1. Driving without license plates
2. Gathering or crowding to watch races or vehicle stunts
3. Exceeding the permissible window tinting limit for vehicles

The remaining 6 grounds for impounding vehicles include:

1. Participating in road races without prior permission from the police – AED 100,000 fine
2. Riding motorcycles on paved roads – AED 50,000 fine
3. Driving recklessly and endangering lives, property, and public safety – AED 50,000 fine
4. Modifying the vehicle to increase its speed or noise level – AED 10,000 fine
5. Evading the police – AED 10,000 fine
6. Vehicles with fines exceeding AED 6,000 will be impounded and released only upon payment of all accumulated fines.
