The UAE Sent 25 Tonnes Of Urgent Aid To Gaza

In a compassionate and humanitarian gesture, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) sent 25 tonnes of crucial aid to Gaza. They are providing much-needed relief to the people in the region. The aid package is a testament to the UAE’s dedication to alleviating the suffering of those affected and fostering stability in the region. Therefore, contributing to global efforts for peace and humanitarian relief.

The UAE sent 25 tonnes of urgent relief aid to Palestine as part of the Tarahum for Gaza campaign

The nation dispatched a plane carrying 25 tonnes of food, medical, and relief supplies to El Arish city in the Arab Republic of Egypt. All in preparation for entering the Gaza Strip via the Rafah Border Crossing, in coordination with the UN World Food Programme. Additionally, the provision of humanitarian aid is part of the campaign which was launched in October. This campaign collected and prepared relief packages aimed at mitigating the severity of the ongoing Palestinian humanitarian crisis.

Sultan Al Shamsi, the Assistant Minister for Development and International Organisations Affairs, highlighted the UAE’s air bridge delivering essential supplies to ease the suffering of vulnerable groups, particularly children, who make up almost half of Gaza’s population. He underscored the UAE’s commitment to its principles of solidarity and support for neighboring nations during crises.

The UAE emphasized the need for an immediate end to the war and the Israeli policy of collective punishment

At the UNGA 4C meeting discussing Israeli Practices and Settlement Activities affecting the Human Rights of Palestinians and Arabs in Occupied Territories, the UAE stressed the importance of:

  • An immediate end to the war and the Israeli policy of collective punishment
  • Safe, unhindered, and sustainable entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza
  • A halt to settlement activities, the persistent storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and demolitions of Palestinian property
  • Israel to fulfil its responsibilities in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions
