In October 2021, Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that paying for public parking can be made via WhatsApp. If you haven’t tried it, definitely give it a shot!
Public parking in Dubai varied in price. You gotta know the code, send a message to a specific number on SMS with your plate number and pray you have the credit for it.

RTA stated: “Parking is now as easy as sending a WhatsApp to RTA’s Chatbot Mahboub on 971 58 8009090. You will even save 30 fils on regular SMS payment.”

You can definitely still opt for SMS but you’ll be charged 30 fils for every message.
Don’t forget that free public parking has shifted from Fridays to Sundays. This means that paid parking zones would be free to use on Sundays, instead of Fridays. Parking fees are applicable for 14 hours daily from 8am to 10pm, except Sundays and public holidays.
