The AED3,000 Fine For Not Wearing A Mask On The Metro & Inside RTA Taxis Still Stands

Avatar

PSA: Face masks are still mandatory when using public transportation in Dubai. Not wearing a face mask at Dubai Metro when using RTA buses or taxis can land you with a penalty of AED3,000😷

Back on September 26, The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced the lifting of the face mask rule across all outdoor and indoor vicinities.

However, wearing a face mask is still mandatory at hospitals, public transportation and places of worship.

Hence, face masks are still mandatory in Dubai when using any public transport (metro, bus or taxi)

This was confirmed by a Dubai Roads and Transport Authority representative.

When asked to comment, a Hala Taxi spokesperson shared that,

Hala is a product of the RTA; they will comply with their policies around safety and hygiene.”
