Synthetic drugs are chemically made to mimic the effects of illegal substances. These lab-made drugs constantly evolve to evade legal restrictions. So, after their research at the Mirsad “Drug Observatory,” Dubai Police discovered 16 new types of synthetic drugs.

Additionally, these substances are unpredictable. They have dangerous effects that pose risks to users.

It comes as no surprise that Dubai Police discovered 16 new types of synthetic drugs between 2022 and 2023

The authorities use their time and energy to ensure the safety of the community. Major General Ahmad Bin Ghulaita, the Director of the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, reiterated Dubai Police’s commitment to staying updated on drug developments. He praised the “Drug Observatory” center and highlighted the experts’ ability to detect chemical changes in drugs quickly.

The 16 substances include 12 synthetic cannabinoids, two synthetic cathinones, and two LSD derivatives, all with harmful effects. First Expert Ibtisam Abdul Rahman Al Abdouli, the Director of the Drug Observatory Center, explained how experts prevent the spread of these drugs by monitoring their chemical makeup.
