US President Donald Trump has indicated that he would consider traveling to Pakistan if a final agreement between the US and Iran is reached and signed in Islamabad. Speaking to reporters at the White House before departing for Nevada on Thursday, the US President shared an upbeat assessment of the ongoing diplomatic efforts, stating that both nations are “very close” to reaching a deal to end the conflict.
Here are the key points from the US President’s latest conversation.
President Trump signaled that a breakthrough could be imminent, suggesting that the current negotiations are progressing successfully. He told the press that if the terms are finalized for a signature in the Pakistani capital, he would likely attend the ceremony.
“I would go to Pakistan, yeah. If the deal is signed in Islamabad, I might go. They want me to go,” the US President told reporters on the South Lawn.

During the press talk, Trump was vocal about his appreciation for Pakistan’s role in hosting and facilitating the dialogue. He described the involvement of Pakistani intermediaries as constructive and expressed confidence in the progress made so far.
“Pakistan’s been great. They have been so great,” the US President added, referring to the country’s efforts to bring both sides back to the table.

While the US President expressed optimism that talks could resume as early as this weekend, there is currently no official confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding a specific date for the second round of peace talks. For now, the focus remains on the “Islamabad Track” as diplomats work behind the scenes to lock in the next formal meeting.
