Saudi Arabia isn’t just sun and sand – there are so many beautiful places to explore and more and more local travell bloggers have been shedding a light to these places recently.

Ryan Al Shareef is one of those bloggers and a Jeddah-based surgeon who has been going around the country and sharing his experiences on Instagram.

The pictures he has been posting of his trip to Abha are a dream

He shared that he visited the ancient fortresses of Rijal Almaa (a UNESCO World Heritage Site, by the way!) and called it an incredible experience.

Sipping tea after a traditional southern Saudi lunch with the fortresses of Rijal Almaa in the background. Delicious food + architectural beauty + mountains in the background made for an insane experience. After lunch we made our way to one of the rooftops of the fortresses to enjoy the view of the entire ancient village. The second photo is an Ariel shot.
