Abu Dhabi Private Schools: Mandatory COVID-19 Testing And Families Can CHOOSE Online Learning
The approved plans for Abu Dhabi private schools have been announced by The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee for COVID-19 pandemic, in coordination with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Education and Knowledge, ADEK.
Parents/students can opt for online learning for the entire first term, as long as you okay it with the school first.
There will be strict safety measures in place, which will be continuously assessed, and ALL teaching staff and students above the age of 12 must get COVID-19 tests bfore returning. Classes will be limited to 15 students, and a physical distance of 1.5m must be maintained on campus.
The return to class will be staggered
KG1 to Year 6 will return on the first day, all other grades will return 4 weeks later. This allows schools to monitor and plan accordingly. ADEK will visit all private schools to evaluate guidelines, and will continue field visits after reopening.
There are five teaching models for schools to choose from
The models are: Full in-class (face-to-face) learning: with students going to school every day; Partial in-class (face-to-face) learning: students to go to school every day but for half a day; and Alternating days: two days a week for in-class (face-to-face) learning.
Also, alternating weeks: two weeks for in-class (face-to-face) learning, and two weeks for online learning each month; as well as Hybrid model: in-class (face-to-face) learning for two days, and three days for online learning for the first week, and three days for in-class (face-to-face) learning and two days for online learning for the following week.
