More than 33,000 Iraqi pilgrims are expected to visit Saudi Arabia during this year’s Hajj period. Among them is 104-year-old Kazimiya Hatim, who has been recognized as the oldest Hajj pilgrim to arrive in the Kingdom this year.
Kazimiya was greeted with much enthusiasm when she landed at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah on May 25. Her arrival marked a significant moment, highlighting her determination and devotion.
Accompanied by Iraqi agent Ali Abd Al-Rida Khazim, Kazimiya traveled from Madinah to Makkah aboard the Al-Haramain train, following their visit to the Prophet’s Mosque. Khazim expressed immense pride and joy, emphasizing how Kazimiya’s participation in the pilgrimage was a source of inspiration for the Iraqi Hajj mission and the broader Iraqi community.
Despite her age, Kazimiya is in good health and is being carefully monitored. She expressed her happiness at being in Saudi Arabia for Hajj and thanked everyone for the warm welcome and excellent service she and her companions received.
