He mentioned that from 2026 onwards, the Hajj will be in the spring for eight years straight, followed by eight years in the winter. “So, we’re saying goodbye to summer Hajj for a good 16 years,” he added, noting the extreme heat pilgrims face, often hitting 45-47 degrees Celsius.

Dr. Mansour Al Mazroui, a member of the Shoura Council and a climate change researcher, confirmed these upcoming changes. He explained that after next year’s summer Hajj, it’ll switch to spring for eight years, then to winter. “The winter Hajj will run from Hijri year 1454 to 1461, followed by the fall Hajj from 1462 to 1469,” he clarified.

Dr. Al Mazroui emphasized that this cycle completes a full rotation through all four seasons over 33 Hijri years. After this, the Hajj will return to summer in 1470 and stay there for nine years.
