Moscow is hosting “Saudi Cinema
Night” at the Saudi Cultural Week as King Salman makes his first visit as a
King to Russia. Followed by a discussion with Russian Film-makers and critics.

Here are the 3 award winning Saudi films Russians will get a chance to see!

Departure

“Departures” tells a story about countering extremism among
youth, an award   winning short film  at the Saudi Film Festival. The film follows a
gripping conversation between two characters – a terminally ill man on the verge of   committing suicide and an extremist aiming to blow up the plane. 

The lead role played by a Syrian actor also won a prize for best actor. 

Directed by Abdelaziz
Al Shalahei, the film won Golden Palm Award at Saudi Film Festival.

Complain 

“Complain” is a film about broken family of a healthcare worker and her miserable life; directed by Hana Al Omair, the film own Golden Plam Tree prize.

Hana started off writing in newspaper than to screenwriting  She is Also won the Silver Palm award for another film “Al-Hadar”.

The Bliss of Being No One

“The Bliss Of Being No One” is a poignant film about loss, heartache, unexpected events  and life’s blessings.

The film follows a lonely, grieving man after he loses his family who then encounters a man with more challenging life – an one-eyed man.

Saudi Filmmaker Bader Al Homoud won many awards in international film festivals and most of his  films revolves around the theme of social impact.

The film won best film award at Dubai International Film Festival
