Billionaire Richard Branson of The Virgin Group Will Invest In Saudi’s Red Sea Project

British billionaire and founder of the Virgin Group, Sir Richard Branson, is the first international investor to Saudi’s Red Sea Project. The Red Sea Project will turn 50 islands into great destinations for luxury tourism. 

On a recent visit to the Kingdom, Branson expressed how amazed he was by what he saw, saying it is “a country where great change is taking place step by step.” During his trip, the CEO of Virgin Airlines, visited the Red Sea and the tombs at Mada’in Saleh. 

The Red Sea Project, part of the Vision 2030, will turn a 200-kilometre stretch of a coastline into an ultimate luxury destination

The Red Sea Project will be open to all tourists, and will feature hotels, transportation hubs and even residences, reports say. 

Branson will invest in the project that will hopefully give 35,000 jobs and bring in SAR 15 Billion to Saudi’s economy 

On his website, Branson wrote “During my visit, I had the chance to enjoy a fascinating tour of Saudi Arabia that few people have got chance to see before.” Gulf News reported that the project could give more than 1 million new jobs by 2030.
