Believe it or not, this actually happened.
Indian newspaper the Times of India reported a pretty bizarre story in one of their latest issues. It has to do with a love story albeit not one with a happy ending, at least not yet.
The story goes that there was 30-year-old Indian driver Shaikh Azeemuddin who hailed from the Nirmal district near the IT city of Hyderabad. He used to work as a house driver for a Saudi family in the kingdom.
He then quits his job and returns back to India.
Meanwhile, the daughter of the sponsor tells her parents that she is travelling to Oman. Instead, the girl travels to Nepal and from there makes her way to India where she reunites with Azeem. The two then get married in India.
The girl’s parents get to know about the marriage and file a complaint with the Saudi embassy in India that the girl was kidnapped.
Investigations are carried out and it was found that the two were legally married so the case is dropped.
She delivers a baby girl and arranges a visa for her husband Azeem.
Azeem arrives in Saudi and is arrested soon after as the parents of the girl file a police complaint against him and cite he married their daughter without their consent.
