A young Saudi boy from Abha committed suicide on Thursday due to the horrendous ‘Blue Whale’ game that has been spreading. Abdulrahman Al-Ahmari, who was under the age of twelve, is yet another victim in a list of similar suicides that took place in other countries.

According to Saudi Gazette, the young boy had strangled himself, which lead to his immediate death. In recent revelations made by the boy’s cousin, the boy’s friends’ mentioned that he was involved in a competition.

The boy’s father has also spoken out about the incident

My son is in the final intermediate class in Sultan city, southwest of Saudi Arabia. We did not notice any strange behavior and he does not have a smart phone, but uses the family’s computer. My son was a happy boy with a cheerful personality, performing his prayers and was involved in football and electronic games. We did not notice any strange behavior in him.

Abdullah Bin Fahid, the boy’s cousin, tweeted about the incident and informed authorities that awareness must be raised on the dangers of the game. The tweet has since gone viral.
