ATTENTION BUSINESS PEOPLE: There’s A Fab Event Happening Soon That You NEED To Attend

Avatar

Start-up owners or aspiring business leaders should make use of the ArabNet conference that will soon grace Riyadh for its 7th edition.

That’s right, thanks to Vision 2030’s drive to creating a more knowledge-based economy, the annual conference has teamed up with Monsha’at, SAGIA and Badir to bring us all the largest startup event in Saudi Arabia.

Don’t misconstrue that this type of event is limited to only the business-savvy (although that does play a huge role), this year ArabNet is opening its doors to the region’s digital business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and even university students who wish to gain some knowledge and inspiration.

Two events will take place simultaneously at this year’s conference

Monsha’at Startup Saudi will welcome 3,000+ entrepreneurs, youth and students, organized by ArabNet; and ArabNet Riyadh for 1,000+ corporate executives and senior government leaders.

And hear this, the two events are expected to bring 150+ speakers from around the world to discuss a wide range of topics.

Social media and content creators can also benefit from the conference

Millennials who want to learn about the future of content creation and digital media, as we know it today, can also learn a thing or two from the Monsha’at Startup Saudi. This event will feature inspirational stories and keynotes in different categories: Launchpad for startups and investment, MerchantHub for e-commerce and payments, and Mediabuzz for the future of content creation and digital media

ArabNet in Riyadh, on the other hand, will host discussions on digital trends: more specifically, the Ad/Edge for advanced discussions in digital media and advertising and the Finversen for digital banking and fintech

It’s the best of both worlds.

The entire event will feature more than 200 startups and 100 investors (and these investors are seeking for great ideas)

Central to this event will be the collaboration between SAGIA and ArabNet to bring – from the region and beyond – 100 startups and 50 VC / tech investors in the largest tech entrepreneurship showcase to take place in the Kingdom, and encourage them to invest and establish operations in KSA.

Over all, the event will feature over 200 startups and 100 investors, with more than $1B in capital available for startups seeking investment, and will be hosted for the 7th time by King Abdulaziz City of Science Technology (KACST) and Badir Program for Technology Incubators.

The US Is Refusing To Take Sides In The Canada-Saudi Dispute

Avatar

The U.S. has decided to steer clear from the Saudi Arabia-Canada dispute that has resulted in a number of changes in just a span of three days. Following the vocality of Bahrain over its support for Saudi Arabia, the UAE and several other countries in the Gulf, many look to the big giant of the west to seek its reaction.

Seeing as the US is both close allies with Canada and Saudi Arabia, many wondered where they’d stand at this critical time.

The US responded with an official statement 24 hours after the dispute took place

According to Reuters, US State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said on Tuesday that the U.S. ‘raises such issues privately with Saudi Arabia — and that it is up to the Saudis and Canadians to work this out.’

“We are aware of Government of Saudi Arabia’s statement recalling the Saudi ambassador to Canada and expelling Canada’s ambassador. Canada and Saudi Arabia are both close allies of the United States. I refer you to the Canadian and Saudi Ministries of Foreign Affairs for further information.
