Mosques Lay Almost Empty As Saudi Celebrates Ramadan From Home
A small number of people are permitted to pray at the Grand Mosque this year but in comparison to other years, mosques across Saudi lay virtually empty.
As precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, public prayers during the Holy Month have been stopped. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom currently stands at 30,251, including 24,620 active cases and 143 critical cases.
Some worshippers are permitted, but there are strict social distancing rules in place.

The Saudi Minister for Health announced some positive updates today;Â Despite increasing infections, the deaths rates in Saudi Arabia are very low, the global death rate is 7 %, while it’s less than 0.7 % in Saudi.
And although COVID-19 cases have increased, it’s down to increased testing happening across The Kingdom.
