Tourists from far and wide come to visit the prehistoric monument of Stonehenge that is a cultural icon in the UK. Here in Saudi, we have a monument that is kind of like that and is of roughly the same era except our Saudi version is unknown even too many living in Saudi as well.

Located near the city of Jouf, the stone pillars look like men standing from afar.

Hence the name Rajajeel, which refers to men in Arabic.

They stand in groups of four or five and are spread over the perimeter with no seemingly visible pattern.

There is a lot of speculation to what exactly the site was used for with some claiming it to be a burial site to others that claim it was a pagan place of worship with some relation to astronomy.

Some inscriptions on the stone pillars date back to over 5,000 years ago.

The area is also an archaeologists dream come true as the place is speckled with historic artefacts waiting to be unearthed.
