A taste of God’s Own Country- Kerala, here in the UAE

Sudheesh Guruvayoor, a former electrical engineer who hails from the south Indian state has created a mini Kerala in the Al Zubair District of Sharjah. He runs the farm with his wife and two children. The land, which Sudheesh refers to as a ‘Garden of Eden’ is home to a wide array of flora and fauna.

From ponds surrounded by golden sunflowers to coconut and banana trees- Sudheesh’s farm is a utopia for all! The star of the show is his paddy field for crops like rice and wheat! Talk about sustainable living!

It’s closed right now but expected to reopen in mid-July

The work for Green Heaven began in October last year. It was open to visitors – of which there have been many- since January this year.

Though closed currently for summer maintenance, it is set to reopen in the first week of July. Visit the farm throughout the week from 7:30 am to 12 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Adults are charged a nominal amount of 20dhs. Children and the elderly go free!

This is SERIOUS nostalgia for Malayalis everywhere

From traditional Kerala huts made from palm fronds and water wheels to the staple Kerala tea shop and vegetable shops- this field has thought of EVERYTHING!

Don’t forget to go say hi to the emus, cows, and ostriches too!

Experience the authentic village life

Not only is this a very practical farm for daily living, but it is also picture PERFECT! Visitors can get together for barbeques and if you fall too deep in love with the scenery… spend a night in their cozy lil hut.

So if you’ve been putting off your travel plans to Kerala, go tempt yourselves now!
