The Sharjah Girl Guides Have Done The Sweetest Thing For Children In Need

Avatar

The Sharjah Girl Guides have been working hard this week to make toys for under-privileged children.

The 25 girls, aged 12-15, built toys from recycled clothing to distribute to children of inmates.

Meanwhile, in a separate workshop, 35 brownies aged seven to 11 years old, participated in a four-day workshop where the girls learned about the value of privilege and then helped make dolls to give to Syrian refugees in Jordan.

“The toys and dolls for those young refugee children and those whose mothers are inmates are a wonderful gift for them and a wonderful lesson for our girls. Instilling the value of community service and the spirit of helping others in need is invaluable.”

Shaikha Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Manager at Sharjah Girl Guides
