AED1000 Fine And 10 Black Points To Motorists Who Don’t Stop For School Buses

Abu Dhabi Police announced that they will implement a AED1000 fine and 10 black points on motorists who fail to stop for a school bus presenting a “Stop” sign.

On August 30, Abu Dhabi Police announced a campaign to ensure student safety while crossing the street

The tweet reads as follows:

“Through digital traffic awareness, Abu Dhabi Police urges motorists to adhere to a full stop when opening the side (stop) arm of school buses in both directions. With a distance of no less than five meters, to ensure the safe and secure crossing of students.”

Additionally, officials posted a follow up tweet clarifying the AED1000 fine they are implementing

They announced a fine of AED1,000 and 10 traffic points (black points) on the license of the driver. Furthermore, authorities are implementing these fines to motorists who do not stop when seeing the “Stop” sign for school buses.

On the other hand, police announced that they will fine bus drivers who fail to open the “Stop” sign. The fines implemented are AED500 and 6 traffic (black) points on the license.
