GCC Citizens Can Travel To The UK Without A Visa
If you’ve got the United Kingdom on your must-visit list this year, then this is good news! GCC citizens, get ready to make those travel plans… ‘Cause you’ll be able to travel to the UK visa-free for up to 6 months.
So, make those travel plans!
GCC citizens take note of what this change means for you
As of February 22, 2024, people from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar can visit the UK without a visa. Also, they can visit for up to 6 months for Tourism, Business, Short-term Studies, and Medical Treatment. However, GCC citizens will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before travelling. Additionally, the ETA costs £10 and you can apply for it online.
Prior to an ETA, GCC citizens were eligible for an Electronic Visa Waiver to travel to the UK
An Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) is a single-entry visa and costs £35. On the other hand, an ETA is a multiple-entry authorisation and remains valid for 2 years. GCC citizens can travel to the UK with an ETA and get a visa on arrival allowing them to visit for up to 6 months multiple times in 2 years! Starting in February, passport holders of the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia can apply for an ETA to the UK, but in February 22, 2024 the ETA is valid for travel. Qataris have been eligible for the ETA since October 2023.
