Al Quaa Desert is located at 23.604633,54.750256 which is 90 minutes away from Abu Dhabi’s city on the road to Al Ain. Darkness is the most important element, so avoid going on a Full Moon night. The best time to go is on a New Moon night and when the sky is clear.

The desert is the best place to go stargazing, camping, and even sand boarding!

If you’re planning a visit to Abu Dhabi’s Milky Way Spot here are a few things you should keep in mind

  1. Do not litter! Carry extra garbage bags to carry trash to the correct area of disposal.
  2. Bring lots of water and food since the closest petrol station is at least 15 minutes away.
  3. Carry a flashlight or floodlight for when you choose to walk around at night.
  4. Be considerate of others by turning your car’s headlights off and keep noise to a minimum.
  5. Bring a blanket or some chairs so you can lay down or have a seat while stargazing so you don’t strain your neck.
  6. Finally, just have fun and enjoy the stars!

The best time to see the Milky Way in Abu Dhabi is from November to February

During these winter months, the weather is cooler, the sky is clearer, the nights are longer, and it’s perfect for stargazing. However, your trip will be in vain if you do not check the moon phase before your visit to Abu Dhabi’s Milky Way Spot.

During a full moon, the sky will be illuminated with the brightness of the moon. This will make it difficult for you to enjoy the sparkling stars and glorious strings of light of the Milky Way.

Al Quaa Milky Way Spot, in Abu Dhabi, is a special spot for stargazers. This spot offers you an unobstructed view of the stars and the Milky Way galaxy right here in the capital city.

Al Quaa Desert is located at 23.604633,54.750256 which is 90 minutes away from Abu Dhabi’s city on the road to Al Ain.
