The UAE Successfully Mediated The Largest Exchange Of Captives Between Russia And Ukraine
The UAE helped mediate the exchanges of over 200 soldiers from both sides, the largest swap since the beginning of the war
This follows a recent barrage of attacks on Ukraine in its coldest months – a scenario the people of Ukraine had feared for months in advance.
Russia launched a series of devastating strikes across Ukraine, hitting several cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Kharkiv. Unfortunately, the intense hailstorm of at least 158 drone and missile strikes caused widespread damage to hospitals, schools, and a shopping mall. Over 40 casualties were reported and 160 people were injured.

The Ministry affirmed the UAE’s commitment to continuing efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, stressing its position of calling for a diplomatic solution, dialogue and de-escalation, and its endeavours to support all initiatives that mitigate the humanitarian repercussions resulting from the crisis.
