There is good news for those visiting the UAE. The Ministry of Interior has confirmed residents from over 52 nationalities can now legally drive in the Emirates using their national driving licences, without the need for a test, provided they are not residing in the country.

Licence recognition refers to the use of national driving licenses within the UAE when the person is not a resident, whereas license exchange means replacing a national driving license with a UAE-issued license during legal residency.
