The political category honors photographer Christina Assi, who lost her right leg in an Israeli strike on October 13, 2023, while reporting from southern Lebanon.
This experience has led her to campaign for the safety of journalists, and she has dedicated her participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay to all journalists who have died in the line of duty.
