DWC’s Race To Become The World’s Biggest Airport Is Going To Have To Wait Another Year

Avatar

Dubai’s second largest airport, the Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) will have to wait until 2018 in its bid to become the world’s biggest airport – with extension plans delayed by a year.

Reports suggest that its expansion has been delayed due to the completion of construction and to allow time for trials and testing.

Once the expansion is completed, the airport will handle 26 million passengers a year from its current seven million.

DWC opened in 2013, Qatar Airways and FlyDubai currently operate flights out of the airport.
